This gold-checked cashmere scarf is very soft, warm, elegant and inspired by the history and origin of cashmere – the soft gold.
This scarf is made of 100% fine cashmere, which is spun from the fine hair of the cashmere goat. The name and the material itself come from the region of the same name in the north of the Indian subcontinent. Cashmere is finer, lighter, softer and, above all, around three times warmer than normal sheep’s wool. At the same time, as a natural fiber, cashmere is extremely breathable. Not least because of these properties and the high degree of gentleness, it is also called ’soft gold‘. Already in 19th century Europe it was considered one of the most beautiful gifts for a beloved woman. This has not changed, except perhaps that it is a wonderful gift for a loved one these days.
The color of this scarf is also inspired by the Indian city of Jaisalmer, the golden city. Jaisalmer is enthroned on a sandstone ridge, crowned by a fortress that protects the palace and several Jain temples. The city lies in the heart of the vast Thar Desert (Great Indian Dessert) and is officially a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We found inspiration in the golden facets of the sand around the Indian desert cities and life in them.
